How this estimate is made

Two sources are combined. The adult weight comes from the American Kennel Club breed standard for the English Cocker Spaniel, which says: "The most desirable weights: males 28 to 34 pounds, females 26 to 32 pounds." The shape of growth is the average curve of the small breeds in a published study of puppies from 12 breeds (Cocker Spaniel, Miniature Schnauzer, Cairn Terrier). We scaled that curve to the English Cocker Spaniel's standard adult weight. We did not find a published growth table measured on English Cocker Spaniels, so these are estimates and not measurements for the breed. For a check on your own puppy, use the puppy size calculator and the body condition check.
